Hi, I'm Sloane!

I love bright colours, dark humour, broad metaphors, and profuse profanity. I laugh at bad dad jokes and dog videos (but will always prefer to smush your dog in person). I believe that good things come in odd numbers, whether image or alliteration, but pairs are good too. I will fight you over an Oxford comma.

My interest in photography began in my teens, but I was in my forties before I started to pursue it more seriously. I have a degree in developmental psychology and worked in television and publishing before taking time to raise my children. I completed my MA in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography at London College of Communications UAL in 2024. I've lived in London since 2009.

With a background as a writer, I find that words guide and inform my practice— whether as a literal starting point or as a subliminal abstraction.

I'm not afraid of getting a little messy. In these filtered times, I try to find the honesty in a moment and enjoy exploring alternative techniques that complement the traditional.
